THE LITERARY JOURNAL. -- We are in receipt of the first number of a beautifully printed paper issued in Cincinnati, by L. D. Sine, formerly of this town and a graduate from the offices of our neighbor of the Free Press. Though stricken with total blindness, Mr. S. has exhibited the most wonderful business enterprise and capacity, and has already amassed in the city of his adoption a fortune that would constitute him a millionaire in his favored localities. His new enterprise gives evidence of entire success. -- The "Journal" will be purely a literary paper. Stories, Essays, Poetry, Sketches, Historical, Biographical and Scientific, and selections, with an ample editorial miscellany, will constitute the general contents." It is published at the rate of $3 per annum, in advance, in addition to which the proprietor offers to distribute by ballot, February, 1870 , $15,000 in valuable gifts, (among them one of $1,000 and one of $500 in greenbacks,) to the first fifteen thousand subscribers obtained. There is an average of one prize to every ten subscribers. The prizes are worth from $3 to $1,000, and even those who are unlucky in drawing prizes, will receive a Family Journal for one year, which is well worth the price of subscription.
